Unlike other major European teams, Bayer Leverkusen this summer has been very active in training which means appearances. The Germans will play Wednesday, July 10th starting at 17:00 already the third match of summer, but only now we can say that will face a little known opponent, Mechelen, formation of the first football league of Belgium.
Even so, it is unlikely that Bayer may tangle, proving in the other two matches of preparation that respect and also respect their favorite status. Leverkusen recorded two wins in the first two friendlies, 4-1 against the Germans of the fourth division, SW Essen and 2-0 against those of Bochum, the band evolving in Bundesliga 2.
The attack proved and this time the main strength of Leverkusen, as in previous seasons, when the 34 rounds in the Bundesliga, Bayer managed to score 65 goals, being the third in terms of coaching in Germany .
On the other hand, at first glance, the figures Belgians of Mechelen after training period are extremely good. However it should be noted that all 6 of Mechelen friendlies were played against opponents net inferiors, most amateur teams. For example, Mechelen scored 40 goals in total so far in friendlies, which means an average of almost seven goals per game.
Figures closer to reality than we can take from last season’s Jupiler League, where Mechelen finished 8 of 16 with 41 points and a very positive golaverage, 44-42.
